I've been feeling pretty down this week. However, seeing this little frog on the sidewalk in the park did improve my mood. Another thing I found kinda funny is that the gates to said park are registered in Pokémon Go as a Pokéstop called "Beam me up, Scotty!".

A bit unrelated, but I'll also thank @nelson for welcoming me into the house of potatoes. That comment perked me up as well.
@happy_frog I need to talk to you. Yesterday, my hubby and I took a walk and were sitting by a pond watching frogs. Then we started wondering how they survive winter, and I'd said I'd consult you for the answer.
Wait, you saw frogs yesterday? It must be warm where you live then. They've not yet emerged where I am.

To answer your question though, it depends on the species. Most bury themselves in foliage, or underground and partially freeze themselves (some like the wood frog - Rana sylvatica - can survive even if 65% of the water in their body is frozen) and greatly slow down their metabolism, essentially going into hibernation.
