My favorite boxing fact is there was a match between two boxers back in the 20s or so and a time out had to be called so the boxers could pop eyes back in and trim down their ears with bites missing from them.

It happens more often than you'd think... all it takes is a hitting the temple with a a pointed part on the fist rather than a flat part... as the point makes it so much easier to break the optical socket and literally pop it out. usually such a strike happens on accident, but you got people throwing fists at each other it's just inevitable odds.
