If Christoph Waltz's performance didn't disturb you, you didn't watch the film properly

I'm afraid Christoph Waltz is on the same road as Klaus-Maria Brandauer, another austrian actor (played Blofeld in James Bond's "Never say never"). Interestingly enough, they both come from theatre acting which is basically a different thing than film acting. Same as Waltz, Brandauer was was getting kudos for his odd mannerisms and just started acting weirder and weirder til it wasn't interesting any more but just increasingly irritating. I have the notion this is what's happening with Waltz right now. I've been following his work over quite some time now, and I always liked him as an actor. Otoh I hate about everything Tarrantino made except from Pulp Fiction, so maybe that's what it is.

Definitely agree with that title.
