depends on how you look at it; the lasting effects still aren't known, and might lead to something else killing you simply because your body can't respond correctly. That's not the point though, the point is we should all be striving not only for our own health but those around us.
According to Johns Hopkins the mortality rate in the US is 1.8%, and 2.3% in the UK.
Most countries report at least 1.5% with some as high as 9%.
So, ah, yeah… I think it is okay to say 2%.
We might be talking at cross purposes
I was talking in respect to the population at large. You seem to be talking about the infection rate fatality
Regarding the IFR, the definition of a covid death is someone who died within 28 days of a positive covid test: this is on the UK gov website
So yeah, if someone tests positive then dies in a car crash, they're counted as a covid death
maybe they coughed while driving and accidently swerved. The truth, again, is nobody knows. I think we can all agree people are dying though; it's horrific no matter. Go ask an ICU nurse what the fuck happened in a hospital and ask them if they would ever expect what they saw. The vast majority will compare it to something on protected lines of a battlefield; at worst you'll get an answer that sounds like triage simply because they didn't have enough machines.
My dad is a nurse (not in ICU mind you) and he says that during covid times it's been fluctuating, some times busier than normal, sometimes quieter. Not sure about the rest of the world, but I did look this up and our hospitals have never been overwhelmed since 2020 started. We literally built new covid hospitals, "Nightingale hospitals", and most were quiet and have since been shut down

That's good; as I wouldn't wish what is happening around here on anyone. You all didn't have an absolute monster fighting against it for his own tv ratings though. If it didn't deal with money, Trump was batshit insane. He did know a lot about money; debt in particular, but ffs he wouldn't stfu for a single second. The media didn't help as they were just reporting the batshit stuff he was (technically is) still saying, so you got like 5 media reports on ever tweet. Even now, he is now encouraging to get the vaccine (something he could have done when it mattered), pondering a lebron sex change and talking about crowdfunding because his campaign is running out of money; money he actually can't run on because of his stupid election lies. He either claims he won a 2nd term or is asking for a 3rd, neither of which is possible without an amendment. There's no way in hell he'll get 37 states to agree. It doesn't help that most people in Texas (getting local now), are fucking retarded enough.
deranged? You're seriously calling me the deranged one when I witness what he did? He literally tore apart the part of CDC that was built specifically to stop a pandemic from crossing oceans. This is the same guy who; on a whim, violated a treaty to not weaponize space. The amount of damage he's caused to the worldwide population cannot simply be undone on a lie. The things that he's done; particularly the space thing, might very well mean humans surviving or going extinct; and you call me the deranged one. I don't mean to sound viscous, but I actually do care about the health of my fellow man. Will I go all braveheart over it? No; but it doesn't mean I don't care.
