The democratic party of the 1800's were conservatives. They switched to be liberals in the early 1900's. I'm guessing you already knew all this and decided to ignore it to take a shot at liberals with no ammo.
Really now? You mean when a Republican Congress strong-armed Democrat President Johnson into passing the Civil Rights Act and went on to largely be reelected after the fact while the Dems crucified Johnson for capitulating to blacks and Republicans? Is that when the switch happened?
Put down your propaganda and try a history book.
Look at the demographics @famousone ...there WAS a switch. The south used to consistently vote for dems until the civil rights act, then they started voting republican. Yeah, racism is everywhere, but the south takes it to a different level; I know you know that.
Negative. The south didn't start voting Republican until years after the CRA (about the time the OG Dixiecrats were all dying of old age), meanwhile the Republican congress that actually created and forced Johnson to sign the act enjoyed even more popularity for years after the fact.
The math and voting records simply don't reflect any kind of ideological switch outside of Progressives stealing the word "Liberal" in the '30s and '40s.
So then, not only did you just showed the switch, you provided the how and why. I think you're x and y... you know what I'ma just shut the fuck up; I love you as a thorn in my side when I'm wrong.
