Yeah, fair enough. I try to be healthy but I'm not a fan of just chowing down on an apple or eating a bowl of berries, and a lot of people I know feel the same, they just don't think about the whole 5-a-day thing. I usually just trick my brain into wanting to eat lots of veggies and fruit by making something out of them and substituting unhealthy versions. Like making dehydrated veggie chips instead of fried potato chips, or having a fruity yogurt drink instead of a sugary milkshake, etc.
They're making rules for *others*, not themselves. You can't expect them to thrive and make good decisions while following the diet they recommend to the population, and force onto school districts (well, just if they want to receive the federal money that gets taken from the taxpayers in that school district).
Now, if the choices were cookies and cut up melons, tropical fruits, or berries, i would choose the fruit as I enjoy those fruits immensely more than apples&bananas
