Yup, a priceless artifact of which most were destroyed by the Japanese government after only 12,000 were produced in the first place.
Extraordinarily rare and valuable collector's item. Terry has outdone himself this week, if only it were more practical as a range toy.
The Winchester ‘11 widow makers weren’t the most inherently safe guns, and I suppose an open pin blow forward pistol you yank the barrel to cock is somewhere in between on inherent safety lol, but those things do make those guns a little more interesting and unconventional than their peers.
If the Hino was more common I wonder if it would be on the radar though?
There are so many odd Soviet and chi-com guns with cheap surplus caliber ammo by the bucket that even if more common, the Hino due to vintage and chambering options might not have quite the hype it does if it was the “hipoint” of the early 1900’s.
Of course I doubt most people with an interest in firearms could pass up an offer to shoot one just for the experience of it.
From what I’ve heard they are kinda not that fun to shoot- but opinions are subjective and it would be neat to own one regardless of other factors.
It’s tough. Guns are a sticky one- for many people they’re part of life, something we grew up with or spent time around and aren’t much different than a chainsaw or a car or a weed whacker- a machine that needs respected but is just a machine. To others, their most formative or only relationship with guns is traumatic. I see both sides, that as a machine or a part of history a gun can be appreciated on those grounds alone-
Even as a work of art or crafts ship; but I also see that Terry is a sort of mascot for joy to many people- a “pure soul,” and to those who aren’t a fan of guns I can see a conflict- kinda like having the easter bunny deliver abortion pills to adults- one of those things alone can offend people but combining them would likely ruffle some feathers even if it was all in fun.
But I obviously don’t think you intended to offend anyone l, like I said, you, like myself, are probably just comfortable around guns and might not ever think about how some people aren’t- unless reminded. I also want to say that I noticed your hidden “SUBmachine gun post and I thought that wether if for the weapon content or the sexual humor- that was grade A classy thoughtful to do that. Credit where due- so to be clear- no condemnation of you or your posting this meme- not casting you as a bad guy here or anything like that. Just my perspectives is all.
Which is why I'm willing to interact with you on this subject. You aren't trying to offend me, in tone or content.
You aren't included in "some people". That's largely directed at the bully who is so offended by my existence that they see my name and immediately decide to dehumanize and harass me.
I took no offense and didn’t think you were referring to me, but I appreciate the clarification. I also know it sucks when you’re just trying to mind your own business, you don’t think you’re doing or saying anything to upset anyone, just sharing- and BAM! It’s maybe expected a little hostility can come through at times when people are in a debate- but boxers don’t expect to leave the ring and get punched in the head by old opponents. It tough. There is a lot of history and users have upset users at different times or in ways and some figure payback is fair or some get to a point where they’re like “forget this person…” That’s why I try not to hold grudges- it doesn’t stop other people from doing it, but I really can’t get upset at a person for having it out for me if I have it out for someone too. Doesn’t justify the behavior or make it easier to deal with- but at some point we either all kill each other or someone has to say “I’m not doing this…” the catch is that it can take…
.. months, years, or never to get to a point where the people out for you realize you aren’t so bad or move on- and all it takes is one little backslide or one little reciprocation to justify to them that they are right to fight.
When people think a way about us, sometimes trying to fight back or reacting just feeds that. The best thing one can do to someone they want to look bad is rattle their cage or get them fighting fire with fire. Hot heads win battles and start new ones, cool heads end them. Or not. Lol. Whatever works for you, I hope things can come to a place that suits you.
