I googled 850is out of curiosity and literally the very, first, response, was a convertible 850is. Along with the three pictures after the first one

Many of those cars have been modified. But none originally came with droptops.

Oh I wasn't saying they factory made them that way, but I thought it was interesting that merely searching 850is, not even adding drop top, immediately produced convertible results rather than the regular factory style

Fair enough, but to be "that guy" there was never a BMW 850iS. It was actually named 850CSi. Using the correct name I'm not seeing any drop tops in Google images.
