Who's the "King" here? What's the "court"? And who's "silenced"? Chapelle definitely isn't. Far as I see it, one (1) of his shows has been cancelled by one (1) venue. I'm pretty sure he was starting to wonder how far he should still go insulting trans persons before he could get the ultimate trolling reward. Now he's all over the media and cheerfully applauded by his faithful followers, he's a top earning Netflix artist and even if more shows get cancelled, he'll have twice the ticket sales in bigger venues. Of course he wants to double down on that and if some simpler minds see an Icon of free speech in him, he'll be laughing at them on his way to the bank.
If you ever actually listened, he never insulted trans people. Actually, one of the most harrowing stories he's told is about a trans friend of his.

Well, he knew pretty fucking well how what he said was going to be perceived. Perceived by trans persons but especially by transPHOBE persons who celebrate him. Understanding and planning on who is applauding you says a lot about your intentions. That's a business model. And EVERY racist for example has an ethnic friend. Fuck that hipocrit.
