My fear is the blanket blue vote without vetting the candidates and in 2 years is 3 secretly republican candidates running on democratic ticket against 1 republican candidate on republican ticket and I'm like.. "can I vote 'non of the above' again?"

Sadly I’d go even further and say that you aren’t likely to find many republicans running under the Republican ticket at all perhaps MAYBE some more local elections. Political across the spectrum have largely been pushed to extremes- but look at the presidency, about as far left as you get in nominations from the dems is what- Bernie Sanders? Who didn’t make the ticket? Now let’s look at the GOP where the furthest right nominations… are literal fascist and their “middle of the road” picks make Ronald Reagan look like a hippie? The last GOP president literally tried- with the support or tacit support of a good deal of his fellows in office- to literally exert executive authority over citizens AND the constitution.

At that point politics is a bit out the window and we reach a stage where however a person feels about LGBTQ+ and all those sorts of things- if there’s a party that might “put a drag queen in every classroom” and a party that might put an actual Nazi or neo nazi in every classroom… I mean- come on. Any religious or political beliefs that are les tolerant of individual traits than.. being aligned to Nazis isn’t one to protect. Freedoms like freedom of speech are there to stop Hitlers and Stalins and Putins and Mao’s- not enable them. I don’t wish loss to the Republican Party. The nation needs Republican views and values to help guide it. These “new republicans” who embrace the far right and hate groups and fascism need to start their own third party because they aren’t republicans.

I just wish for candidates who are worthy of the position. Sadly, thise best suited often refuse to run because how it will effect family / community and instead it... these guys (gestures vaguely).

Lol. Agreed on all counts. A job like that, almost anyone who really understands what the job is and has a sense of responsibility to the job will usually not want it unless they really care about serving. The entire premise that we need to pay politicians well to prevent corruption has been patiently disproven as well, people with integrity have integrity wether they make $30k a year or $300k. So the fact politics is so lucrative and allows one such power to benefit their family and selves doesn’t help.

So much left vs right, black vs white, red vs blue. No meeting in the middle. So much hatred and trying to hurt or stop each other ..

RIGHT! find me a candidate that hates everyone equally. "I support burning coal while it's still in the ground, deportation to the ocean of anyone who drives at the same time I do, Universal Healthcare is 6 packets of ketchup (figure it out for yourself), all marriage is banned, all religion is taxed (greenhouse discharge to counter burning coal in ground), ad all politicians caught in corruption are exhiled to barren Island in South Atlantic (ile kerguelan). Praise capputomunisml."

What a bold and effective way to announce your presidency. Also convenient as it saves me a lot of trouble knowing who I am voting for this far ahead of the election.
