Yeah, I played the PS5 edition for all of an hour and realized the upgrade wasn't noticeable at all. When it went from PS3 and Xbox 360 to their respective next gens, there was a huge number of changes. I just don't see anything different at all this time.
I luckily missed out. A lot of “remasters” and such- but IMHO rockstar especially-
It’s like… their “updates” seem to at best be about the same as the original and at worst somehow manage to be worse and/or buggier. Of course there have been some awesome updates or remasters of older games that either have allowed playing games from generations of console back that you couldn’t have without owning the old hardware or which have added nice graphics updates or gameplay and QOL changes or Easter eggs and fixes or fan service- but I find myself often disappointed by “remasters” and such. Well- here’s to hoping I’ll live long enough to play 6 and it will be worth the wait and not some mess or pay to play nightmare.
GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. I'd actually managed to block that out of my memory but your comment made me think of it. I don't think I've ever been burned so badly by something. It's not just a matter of how shitty it was, it's how excited I was for it. It was like a dream come true, upgraded versions of three of the greatest games ever made. And somehow, they actually managed to make them worse than the original versions. Twenty years of time between GTA III and now and they made. Them. Worse.
Oh no. You said the “S” word. It wouid be nice if it came out on time- but I’d also rather they take another year if it needs it vs. releasing bad product. Like- I love No Man’s Sky and it became a great experience but when they released it it was barely a game let alone delivering on the promise of wide eyed exploration and adventure. Cyberpunk was another game I loved and played relentlessly on release (and was lucky to have relatively few bugs and none that were too serious) but another year could have changed the perception and experience of so many players. It’s a long list but it’s almost getting to a point any “ambitious” game release is better to wait at least a year to buy anyway. Lol.
But I agree- let’s hope Star Field is on time and as promised.
