That’s actually the origins of “jack of all trades.” The full saying is that it is often better to be a jack of all trades and master of none than a master of one.” Or some phrasing to the effect.
The whole point of the term “jack of all trades” is it is awesome. Life in general but especially outside the modern world is not generally best suited to narrow specialists. One of humanities reasons for evolutionary success has been we kinda suck. We have great endurance but not the best. Our strength is decent. Vision and hearing and smell are good enough. We aren’t the fastest or most agile. Our natural weapons are ok and we have a wide diet but generally lack unique or novel adaptation to any specialized food source. We aren’t terribly well suited to any climate but can survive in many climates.
When you start to get into certain very technical fields or complex trades being very specialized can have benefits but it’s still generally better to be more “well rounded.”
