That's not entirely fair. According to the UN Human Development Index (HDI), the US is at 21st place, making it only the 31st most undesirable developed country to live in. Better than Slovenia but worse than South Korea. But yeah, from a European perspective it seems like a bit of a shithole to live in.
Meh. You can go almost anywhere in the world and find people who love it and people who hate it, a development index certainly can’t rate individual satisfaction or happiness, it’s a bit like comparing two houses and saying that one can’t be happy because they don’t have central air conditioning or solar panels or whatever else is on a house development index. Of course regardless of the flaws and such, 3 times more Europeans move to the USA than Americans move to Europe, so I guess that certainly shows development index isn’t the whole story. I suppose there are many different perspectives in the world and it can be a great thing that there are diverse places so that people can try and find the ones that suit them best.
