This is false on one count and partially false and partially true but largely irrelevant on the second count. Count one it is fair to say that most women haven’t mastered the skills to pee standing without a reasonable probability of creating a mess or getting it in themselves, but it is false to say women cannot per standing up, more to this track later. That said, to the second count- pretty much everything can be pooped in- including most common designs of standing urinal, so true it could be pooped in, laRhett irrelevant because there is nothing physically stopping men from pooping in urinals to begin with usually- in fact there generally aren’t any specific laws about pooping in a urinal and there are no instructions for using a urinal. You don’t poop in the urinal primarily as a matter of custom. In THEORY there are legal charges that could be brought for pooping in a urinal… but… since there are no laws and generally no instructions and it IS for waste… well…
If someone was actually prosecuted for pooping in a urinal and three enough money behind their case it is highly possible they could get off most likely. So anyway- whatever the reasoning people don’t poop in urinales generally even though you physically can simply because the custom is to not do so, and thusly we can assume the same here.
With that out of the way however- the fallacy in count two is the assumption that standing and sitting are the only ways to urinate. In history as well as many other countries the “western style toilet” doesn’t exist and squatting is of course another option. A simple grated floor or such can accommodate liquid waste at the users discretion and there are of course other options too. The other thing to keep in mind- the thing I find funnies about this entire meme and how I’m sure it might make many scoff or consider it ridiculous or impractical…
If you have two bathrooms arbitrarily for pooping and peeing, you are relying entirely on people to follow rules or custom. There’s no reason a person can’t pee in the poop room or poop in the pre room just as there is no reason you can’t poop in a urinal or pee in a sink, poop or pee in a trash can etc. people sometimes do do these things, or on the floor, but they are usually outliers and we don’t generally structure entire restrooms and their use around those possibilities that someone may pee in a sink or poo in a urinal- because beyond custom there is a general assumption that other users will prevent such behavior. People tend in general not to do such things around witnesses who can judge them or report them or confront them.
So then we run into a situation where we have an arbitrary split between mens and women's rest facilities. Men and women can use the same toilets- there is nothing physically stopping men or women from using the facilities of the other. Often times when one facility is at capacity the other gets used. It’s fairly common for example for women to use men’s restrooms due to lines often being longer for women’s etc. it is already generally legal and tolerated for a patent or guardian to take their different gendered child to the parents gendered restroom as what else would one expect a lone guardian of a child to do if one of them needs to use the restroom?
So the distinction between a bathroom for pooping and peeing is just about as silly as the distinction between bathrooms for the genders- with the exception that most of us are generally are accustomed to gendered bathrooms. The sky is blue, it would be odd to you to go outside and see a green sky most likely, but it just happens to be that blue light is more scattered by our atmosphere. There is no inherent known purpose to that being the case, one can surmise that just as easily green light could be more scattered. A green sky is only odd because we are used to a blue sky, but there isn’t really a “reason” the sky has to be blue- it just is, and so things on earth have adapted to blue skies. When we discuss ma made conventions, reason is much more knowable and we can change things when the reasons don’t really make sense or a more reasonable solution presents itself.
Of course some cite various issues concerning human sexuality as reasons for gendered restrooms, but this completely ignores the fact that many humans are not “solely heterosexual.” In other words, there isn’t really a sexual danger in general terms that exists to mixing genders that does not exist when genders are segregated. We just happen to be used to it. So I find this one funny on many levels.
