Comparing your real self to fictional characters is something mentally unwell people do.

If you want to make a game that represents reality, sure, put all shapes, sizes and colours of people in it.
But don’t expect people to buy it based on that alone.
As a baseline, if people don’t want to cosplay your character, it’s a bad character, full stop.
At one point In the dystopian future, only the beautiful people will be left because all us ugly trogs will have sacrificed ourselves to save them and destroy 99% of the plague figures because: 1 meh, nothing better to do; 2 they're pretty, deserve to live; 3 sacrifice earns glory in Valhalla; 4 maybe I'll survive and they'll like me after.

It’s possible to make a diverse cast attractive, because beauty is subjective. Concord is just hard coping because they can’t even get a colour palette right
