That's just it. The idea isn't to live on minimum wage because its the minimum amount. You're expected to get raises and grow. I know people don't, but that's how it's supposed to work.
I remember back when people would get roommates if they couldn't afford their own place. Now, everyone seems entitled to their own starter house fresh out of high school. Not to mention it "needs" to have 5+ bedrooms for the family you're starting, because people have seen that bullshit on so goddamned many tv shows the past 10 years.
I'm telling you, the Mexicans have it right. Live together and share the bills, so you can put more money away in a savings account or something.

Supernovamike: I agree with you 100% minimum wage was never meant to be lived off of. Raising it makes it harder for businesses (especially small ones) to hire more entry-level employees.
