Hey but her mom is actually being pretty smart with the money. Although they're poor now, the money is being saved for when her and her sisters are adults and move out to live on their own.

You realize the chance of dying of obesity before the age of 21 is pretty low right? Usually you begin having problems in your 40's and 50's if you've been at a heavy weight for a while. And considering their mother is alive at that age and still at a heavy weight, I'm pretty sure they will have already moved out and lived on their own for quite some time before they have any health problems relating to obesity.

Actually, if you are obese from a young age, then it dramatically reduces life expectancy. Trust me, I'm a doctor.

They give about 75% (more or less) to charity and the rest goes into a college fund for their kids. They may be ridiculous but they know what they're doing.
