How Facebook is Stealing Billions of View - In a Nutshell 4 comments
funstats · 8 years ago
This is still on YouTube. The embedded video still counts as a view for the creator, and any ad you watch still benefits the creator. It's equivalent to just watching it on YouTube.
.
The problem is when people re-upload the video to Facebook's player. Then the creator (on YouTube) gets no view and no ad revenue, and thus has no reason to continue taking their time to make awesome content.

Just a tip for those who are interested: If you get the app (iOS or Android), it costs $2.99 once and you get step-by-step solutions in it forever. The online one is a monthly subscription that costs MORE than the app does every month! So if you just need step-by-step solutions, the app is a steal at only $3.

It actually can be called an "overscore", the opposite of an underscore. Or an overline or macron.

It's not on standard keyboards, but you can copy and paste it easily.

The original comment says "Why would he have it at the airport?". He didn't. This was entirely in a school and no airport was involved. Just wanted to throw that out there to avoid the spread of misinformation.

This is the "Stichting Openbare Bibliotheek Spijkenisse" which translates to "The Spijkenisse Public Library Foundation". It's in the Netherlands. Here's it on a map:

Wat. It's free. Online. The downloadable one costs money, but they say:
"We've always made Hemingway available for free via the web."
Use it now, no cost:

Woah woah woah thethirdi...
This is a comedy show. They plan all that stuff in advance. It's not entirely scripted, but it's written to be f-u-n-n-y. It's a joke. Calm down.
.
Also Conan actually graduated from Harvard, so it makes sense he would get an intellectual joke.

I'm posting this today because of the time zones 32 comments
funstats · 8 years ago
Why is this comment getting down voted? He's RIGHT, and the post IS a day off. Look at a calendar and add up the days in the first six months: 31+28+31+30+31+30= 181 days. So therefore July 1st is the 182nd day and July 2nd is ACTUALLY the 183rd day.
.
The post IS CORRECT about its main point: July 2nd at 12:00 PM is the exact middle of the year. Exactly 182 days lie before July 2nd and 182 days lie after it, so on July 2nd, we're right in the middle. And 12:00 PM is the middle of the day.
.
Of course, all that's true if it's NOT a leap year, in which case the middle of the year occurs at midnight on July 2nd.

And for the first "43 years" forests didn't exist.
.
Ok, so it still isn't sustainable. But it is true that forests weren't around until 320 million or so years ago. This timescale is skewed because they're starting from the very beginning, like when everything was magma and such.
.
In this scale, forests existed for the last "three years". Unfortunately, 50% is an understatement. In the last few "minutes", it's estimated we've destroyed 80% of the forests. Yikes!
