It's not broad at all. The charges against him are that he made foreign policy decisions for his own personal enrichment using non-government personnel and back channel deals. And the Republicans defense isn't that Trump didn't do it's "yeah he did it, but so fucking what?" It's well against the law to use the office of the president and the federal government as your own personal business, but we are so used to it by now that we've become numb to it.

Isn't it great how he knows the answer to this? Like, nobody in Australia thought of controlled burns, or other preventive measures, but famousone has figured it out!

As somebody who has a deadbeat dad he last saw about a decade ago: having no dad is much, MUCH better than having a bad one.

My girlfriend gets debilitating migraines due to what is known as a pseudo-tumor. This has been going on for about 9 years now. She has tried most of the major medications and found one, a shot, that is a literal wonder drug for her. Because she literally has not tried all of them for a year each, her insurance will not cover any of it.

That's logically flawed. The Kardashians didn't write a book 172 years ago that we still talk and argue about; their names aren't tied to a governmental system that millions of people throughout history have attached themselves to. Karl Marx isn't and wasn't a pop culture sensation; he's an extremely historically important person. And I said nothing about positive contributions, because thinking about history in only negatives and positives is lazy and assigns value judgements to people and events we know nothing about. If you're analyzing history, you talk about how your topic affected others and their feelings on it, otherwise that analysis becomes more about you than the topic.

They so badly want the Democrats to be as bad as the Republicans that they make up stories and narratives under the guise of "just asking questions."

The fact that we still talk about Marx proves his importance. He was the first person to tie history, philosophy, and economics together to create a dialectic that focused on the people rather than industry. He shined a light on the cruelty of the capitalist system of the time and offered (admittedly fuzzy) solutions. His major downside is that he was supremely vague: so many communist movements were based off interpretation and using Marx's words against himself. Overall, he pushed a social conscience that wasn't readily apparent before.

Logic and emotion are not antithetical. The weird logic stans that think being a cold machine will somehow make them a superior being miss out on the human element of it all.

For me, Supernatural is the epitome of the CW show: it has a baseline of competence and it's best episodes are really good, but I kinda forget about it after a while and don't have any desire to watch it again.

It's funny how all the climate deniers don't see the potential economic upside of getting in in the ground floor of something like this.

Education and healthcare are in the places they are because some genius came up with the idea to squeeze as much money out of them as possible. We are so used to being fleeced that we all just kind of collectively shrug our shoulder and say "what else are we gonna do."
