Holy crap when I read this at first like 2 hours ago I legit thought "lacma" was some New variant of "ligma" I hadn't heard of. I didn't realize it was actually a place until just now

I don't have the energy to correct this in full detail again so short version:
He didn't "save" 6000 children. Ashton (along with Demi Moore) has helped with the development and implementation of a program that, at the time, had helped IDENTIFY around 6000 children that were victims of sex trafficking online.

A few hundred of these children were actually removed from their situations.

Currently their website says the number identified is up to over 10,000 and over 9,000 predators have been identified. And to be clear - this is still VERY important work. BUT saying 6000 children have been saved solely by Ashton is excruciatingly misleading.

Ashton still works with the company as far as I know.

It's not. Apparently it actually happened. His kid did an interview on the radio about the incident and everything.

I'm not sure the doctor actually was expecting a response. I didn't listen to the radio interview, but some people have said the doctor said something more akin to "how are you today, bugs?" After Mel responded the doctor also asked if tweety bird was around, to which Mel replied "I tawt I taw a puddy tat."

He didn't fully recover for another 7 months though

apparently the shooter wasn't connected with the school in any way so far. He came into the school and went into a philosophy class in combat gear with a BPV, armed with explosives, a handgun, and the AK-47. He said people were trying to kill his family and demanded to be connected to whoever the heck somewhere in national security (or something).

Somehow some students managed to call the gym teacher and told him there was a "problem." The teacher went into the classroom having no clue what he was walking into. He managed to subdue the gunman after the gunman turned his face towards the chalkboard. The gunman attempted to shoot him twice during the scuffle but missed both times. The teacher suffered several cuts on his hands and possible hearing issues from the gun being fired so close to his head
