Frozen takes place in Norway

Just to clarify; they are called Norwegian Fjordhorse, a Norwegian Fjord is something quite different. And we don't just do that to the mane of the "show horses" (whatever the person who made this meant by that), we do it to all of them if we want to.

When I first found out that the horse is a Fjord I almost pooped my pants because they live in the Fjord. I LOVE THE FJORD.

"Fun" fact: The Norwegian Fjordhorse is our (Norways) national horse. We even had it on our money. Now, this rase is actually going exstinct.

It most certainly isn't going to extinct.

Yup, it is. It's on the warning list already. Along with our døl, coldblodded trotter and lyngshest.

How are they going extinct? I know so many breeders...

Yeah, and my aunt has two of them, and there's still horse shows with them preforming! It doesn't seem like they're in any danger to me

In Norway we only have about 6000 left of the Fjordhorse. And a lot of them are fixed, or not good breeding material. There are so few that want to breed them, and slowly the population is sinking. There has actually been talk of PAYING people to breed their mares.

Just becouse you see them around, does not make them out of danger. We have a lot of breeds in horses, dogs and cattle that's really low in population in Norway. The breed has to have less than 100 to a 1000 animals to breed to get on the list. A bunch of them do. Including the Fjordhorse.

My god dear... Thats just in Norway. You'll find purebred fjords all over the world not only Norway or Europe. There still are thousands of good stallions around to breed with. They are not an endangered breed.

Just because there's not as many in Norway anymore doesn't mean they're going extinct
sophi

Over the world it's still just 80.000 of them. That's not a lot. And you are aware that all contrys have their own list? And on Norways, the NORWEGIAN FJORDHORSE, our NATIONAL HORSE BREED, is on. They are fucking endangered. Read a book please. I'm out.

No need to read a book dear. Fact is that 6000 is a great amount of horses of one breed for one country. And believe me with 80.000 all over the world they won't even come near to extinction. Lets do some math: 50% off 80.000 is 40.000. That means aproxomatly 40.000 mares and 40.000 "manly". Of those 40.000 we take 60% neutered that means we now have 24.000. Generally 15% are not up to breeding standards so we leave with 20.400 well bread stallions. But lets take it a step furter one sixth of them are still too young so 17000 are at the age to reproduce. It takes each of these stallions to ejaculate 3 times to fertelize all those 40.000 mares. These numbers are compared to other breeds. There is also no need to interbreed as seen many times.

They are gorgeous. But can be rather stubborn and hard headed.

Really, it's not. GTAV earned the most cash for Rockstar than any other game ever created. GTA isn't lame, obviously. I think it's just your opinion.
