I SEE IT. What looks like brown dead grass is the wall which his arm and the squirrel are resting on.

Okay, the squirrel is sitting on a ledge and the arm is covering the other side of the ledge.

I saw this picture twice today on two different websites and I was so frustrated because I couldn't figure it out! It has been taunting me until good old' funsubstance explained it. :)
