My dad and my brother update me on the new episodes whenever I go over to my parent's house for dinner, so I don't watch it but I'm more or less aware of everything going on in the series.
Me neither. I started reading the first book recently, so I guess I still count as a fan, but I haven't seen any episodes of the series. Honestly, according to what I've seen on the internet compared to what I've read in the book, the series is pretty inaccurate. They probably did a good job on it, but book is always better, y'know.
Well I know a big difference between the book and show is that each of the younger characters, Sansa, Arya, Bran, Jeoffrey, etc.. Are 2 years older in the series.
Only 2 years? I always assumed it's more. I mean, Jon Snow and Daenerys are both played by adults and they're supposed to be 14! Arya is about 7, I think, and Sansa is 12! I think some of the characters are portrayed as more than 2 years older...
Nope. I'm not positive about Jon Snow and Daenerys but the rest are only 2 years older. I'm pretty sure Jon and Daenerys are too but I'm not positive. Look it up.
Yup, I looked it up. Basically the reason why they made the characters age is that in some countries it's forbidden to show sex scenes with underage actors, or even adult actors playing underage characters. The age difference varies from character to character, but it's usually 3-5 years.
There are six (i think the sixth was released not so far ago) and it's confirmed there are going to be seven. They are the most awesome thing you'll ever read, with very little differences from the tv series (or at least not so much differences as other series).
The books are actually pretty good, if you're a fan of fantasy. There's a lot of violence and sex and politics, but I think that makes it realistic, which is good. Personally I'm not a big fan of those obvious dreamy happy ends. I don't know about the series, though. I've heard it's not that true to the books and from what I've gathered from posts about current episodes that were good enough to have their own posts on the internet, even timeline is different from the timeline of the books. It seems pretty weird to me, but I've never watched the series, so I guess they made it work somehow.
I started and it's not bad (the tv series) but I don't like it that much... Although it's very graphic, I don't like all the talking and it takes sometimes forever to get to the point... My mom has read all the books and is waiting on the next one so that might take a while and she tells me stuff about the books and it's FUN! I kinda only watch because of John Snow
Sorry for being a pain in the ass, but it's Jon Snow... I mean, i know it's not your fault not knowing, when you watch the series you don't have it written so you can't tell the difference...
Indeed, it's Jon Snow, but you obviously couldn't have known. I may dissapoint you, though, there's a lot of talking in the books as well. It's mostly discussing politics and strategies and stuff like that. Other than that, however, it's pretty awesome! There's usually some kind of cliffhanger or intense action at the end of every chapter, but then it shifts to another character and you're left with no idea what happens next. Then the next chapter has another cliffhanger at the end, which makes you eager to read another one, and another one and another one. It's a very interesting system of putting the chapters together and it fits the timeline well. Just read the books, they might interest you :)
Always
The 6th (rumored) will be out in 2015
