I got dragged to Hooters with my two guy friends and I felt super self conscious and felt gross about my body while I sat there trying to enjoy my food as they giggled and took videos of girls dancing. It unnerved me to see so many half naked girls there in one place, socially normal for them to be serving food.
Sounds like my first, last and only experience with going to a strip club... and I'm a straight guy. I got dragged to one once, before my 21st birthday no less. Yeah that was *fun*
It was unnervingly obscene in the purest sense of the word. It felt like I was watching some sort of uncut National Geographic special. It was... disturbing.
.
I feel the same way about that as Chris Hardwick talks about it on stage, "when you are sober, you can see the Matrix code behind the strip club."
You can see through the Bullshit.

Okay, so would it change the food-eating experience if it were the same food and clothed women? If it would, then you're not going just for the food. If it wouldn't, then you should be angry that men go to perv on women.
if you want this, make it happen
its not that hard to open a restaurant, the only thing it takes is the brave to open an enterprise
i also know guys who would be fine with that job, if the payment is alright
Excuse all you guys. Chipandales in Las Vegas is the exact same thing. There's more billboards about that than there are for womens strip clubs in Nevada
It's mainly because, as a general rule, as websites gain in popularity and viewership, the community attracts more and more shitty members who can't take a joke. It is why 4chan went to shit, not to mention Moot's terrible management of the 4chan mods. So, in conclusion, while Funsubstace has managed to keep itself fun(for the most part), it is only a matter of time before it too, goes to shit.
Oh my gosh, have you never heard of sarcasm? Or irony? Gees, the person in the post was making a statement, that if it were reversed no one would ever accept it, nor would they allow it in the first place. On top of this, they're trying to show men how females feel when put in that situation. Geez.
Men would be fighting each other to work at this "male Hooters". I'm not saying women are wrong to feel objectified, I'm just saying men would be all about that. If a bunch of women grabbed my ass when I bent over to pick up a fork, FREE DRINKS FOR THAT TABLE!
The 'just don't look' argument really annoys me. Literally, using that argument, you can justify literally anything. Don't like the holocaust? Just ignore it. Don't like people terrorist acts? Just ignore it. See how stupid that sounds? People have to fight for what they believe in, and part of that is voicing their opinion.
Jilaroo- I think abortion is wrong. I have decided that it is a personal choice and I should not force my opinion in others. I do not visit Hooters or strip clubs either, but I do not try to ban them. I carry a firearm daily, I do not demand that you do. I do not drink, but I do not try to force you to follow suite. I do not use drugs (except for sweet sweet caffine), I do not try to crush the "legalize it" movement that is sweeping the nation. You see, it is not a government's job to legislate good behavior. It is a parents job to teach it and an adult's responsibility to live it. This nation (and world) are quite diverse, you cannot force your standard set if beliefs into every situation.
That's not what I am saying. I'm not saying it should be ignored. I'm saying that if the same exact thing happened to men it would just make it bad for more people and would not fix any problems.
easysteps- mmk that makes more sense ha, just wasn't what came across in your comment up there. but I think the post was just a social comment, not actually serious.
guest- see, I actually don't think that's a good approach. You say it's not up to the government to legislate good behaviour, yet you're against an individual voicing their opinion? How else will we get the government to listen? And the sad fact is, lots of adults do not teach their children well, or aren't there at all, so all they're learning is what they see. Championing your morals and values isn't forcing standards upon another, it's showing people there's an alternate way to live, and showing why you think it's good. Without voicing our opinions, we would be a society with no morals or ethics.
In3easysteps- I don't really think this post suggests that this should actually be done. Because you're right, making this happen wouldn't fix anything. But it does put into perspective a lot that is wrong with the whole Hooters franchise and how degrading and uncomfortable it can be.
Lemmeliveinbooks- Instead of banging angrily on your keyboard and calling yourself an "activist" why don't you open one of these restaurants you suggest in your town? When it takes off open another and another and then start offering franchises. After time you can retire early and devote your time to traveling, camping in the mountains and raising your children to not become servers in these establishments. You will have achieved the proverbial "American dream". Or would you rather pitch a fit from behind your keyboard to get virtual high fives from other so called "activists"?
1. "banging angrily on my keyboard"?
2. I did not write this Tumblr post.
3. I claimed nothing about being an activist.
4. I only posted this because it seemed funny to me.
5. Where the FUCK are you getting your misguided notions?

But really, you may end up serving women who you do not at all find attractive.
