Although I feel really sorry for her, I still reckon that if you were dumb enough, as a celebrity to take nudes and think it was private, you kinda deserve it. At least she learned a good lesson
Srsly people, if u don't want people to see your privates, man or woman, don't take a picture of them.

You "deserve it"? So with this line of thinking, if you were dumb enough to forget to lock your front door, you "deserve" to have someone walk into your house and rob you? It's your fault and not the thieves? It astounds and saddens me how many people are blaming those who's accounts were hacked and privacy was violated, rather than the person/people who did this. It is wrong, the ones who did it know it's wrong, yet many people are using their personal opinions of whether or not you should take a digital nude photo to justify the actions. You should be able to do what you want, in the privacy of your own space, without worry that a psychopath might come along and violate that right.
Technically it is considered negligence and you wouldn't get any insurance money if you didn't lock your front door. Not trying to say what the guy did was right, not at all, but not taking the pictures would've saved them allot of trouble.

Of course in would be negligent, but reimbursement aside, it is wrong to steal from others. Just because there was a slip in judgment, it didn't give another person a right to take from you. You're absolutely right that the only way to be completely safe is not to do it, but the fact that they did and someone who flushed their moral compass down the toilet and not only stole their pictures, but exploited them without any empathy, makes me angry and sad. We should respect each other more than that. There should be more of a backlash against the one who did it, rather than the ones it was done to. There were too many people happy that they got to see her boobs.
Honestly(and I don't know if this is how I went down, but this could go for other people) if you want to send a nude pic to your boyfriend or husband(or girlfriend/wife), that's your choice. Best case scenario, they delete it right after they see it and nothing happens. Jen got hacked. How should she be blamed for that?
Yes, I agree that it isn't her fault... not entirely. The pictures were released against her will. She did not intentionally, publicly allow her self to be seen nude.

However, as I have been saying with increasing frequency in the past few days, NEVER commit anything to an electronic format that you don't want released or seen. No matter the circumstances or how private you intend the media to be. This is the best example why. Things committed to electronic formats have a habit of getting out eventually... and it is forever.

Its not her fault she got hacked but why would you send or take nude pictures of yourself? What could you possibly benefit from if you do this?
Yeah but people have to develope the film. One, its almost impossible to find places that still do that, and two, people will definitely see them(the developers)
There's a legend that there's a few places that used to develop film had a "special binder" that they kept copies of those kinds of pictures in.

I recall a story (though not the details) of such a place that the employees got busted for that. At a retail chain of significant size.
I knew a girl working at the walmart photo center who would show everyone who was working the more innapropriate pics.. with that said, if you print your own pics on one of the self printers only you will see them.
I don't think she can be blamed for it, because obviously she didn't intend this to happen, but i think it was quit foolish for her doing it, whether she knew the risks and did it, or didn't find out about hacking risks etc.
No one got directly hacked, it's because Apple's iCloud automatic backup allowed brute force attacks for authentication. The near zero-day hack is all Apple's fault, the only defense they had was to have more difficult passwords that would only delay the inevitable.
Almost EVERYONE in their life will either take a nude photo or have one taken of them. Blame the hacker, who did something inappropriate, not Jennifer. Taking nudes is a personal choice. Do not think that you are excused from feeling guilty for looking at the photos because she "had it coming" or you're teaching her "a good lesson." Taking nudes it pretty normal. Going through the huge effort to find those photos was a huge violation of privacy, and so is looking at them.
Thank you. I was starting to lose faith in humanity reading some of these comments. Taking personal pictures for your partner is not the same as having your photos stolen and given to the world for all to see. If this happened to someone other than a celebrity people would not be reacting the same way.
It doesn't matter if you would or wouldn't do it - all that matters is that Jen was well within her rights to do so, and it remain private. It is not at all okay that people are saying she's partially to blame for taking the pictures in the first place.

The whole double standard thing is whats bothering me. Naked pic of X actress and everybody is up in arms about how terrible it is and such a violation of privacy. Where was everybody when Greg Oden, Dylan Sprouse, Jon Hamm had photos leaked of them? Oh thats right, everybody was joking about it or critiquing their bodies. They ended up even apologizing for having the pictures taken in the first place because they got so much shit for it. Why is nobody crusading for Dave Franco or Justin Verlander? They both had a lot of photos leaked in the recent outbreak.
What about when the Donald Sterling audio tape got leaked? How many of you were complaining about how it was such a violation of his privacy and how many of you were just calling him a filthy racist?
How bout all the stuff with Anthony Wiener? Why was everybody just calling him a filthy pervert and not fighting for him and his invasion of privacy?
And another thing. You don't back up nude selfies onto ONLINE STORAGE. Seriously, how stupid do you have to be to just assume nobody else could possibly access it or that there is nobody out there that is gonna try to hack into that? They didn't just take the pic and send it to a loved one/friend, or take it and save it on their phone or downloaded it onto a computer. THEY BACKED IT UP ONTO ICLOUD.
Now given, its not the easiest thing in the world to turn off the automatic picture back up, nor is it right that the whole thing happened in the first place. But there were some very serious, very easily corrected steps that all of these people completely neglected to protect themselves.
