Ugh, I hate the shocked reactions I get when I say that I don't want to have children. "You can't be serious!" (which is what I got when I told my grandma), "You'll grow out of it," and "You're too young to realize it," and other bullshit. Yes, I'm only 17 and thus too young to have kids, but I'm sure this opinion of mine won't change anytime soon. There's too much to see and too much to learn to just settle down and let go of all your dreams.
I feel you brother. (or sister). Plus we're overpopulated anyway, why make more babies. Traveling the world is sooo much better than changing diapers and stuff
Don't knock it til you try it. It's the most fulfilling thing you could ever do with your life. That's why people want you to do it. They want you to be happy, and they know where happiness comes from.
Well we just know what we want to do and having kids is something you can't really just try out and reverse. We would rather do other things, and when someone tells us what to do with our lives without knowing where our happiness comes from it feels more than a little bit annoying.
No one's holding a gun to your head and making you do anything. But they were single and childless once. Now they have kids, and having experienced both, they know which life they enjoy more. They're just trying to offer advice.
Why be bothered by someone trying to help you? If you don't want to take the advice, don't. Just don't be ungrateful little pricks about it. That's all I'm saying.
Oh I'm not talking about the people giving their casual advice and opinion I mean the ones who preach to you and try to brainwash you into have kids and never shut the fuck up about how all you need to be successful and happy is offspring.
