I love that in The Rescuers they play homage to PanAm a HUGE transatlantic airline back in the day, they show Madamme Medusa boarding the Shuttle Helicopter atop the PanAm Building ready for boarding her flight to The Devils Bayou :))

Because I feel like being nice today: the dark ages were a time in history after the classical ages also known as the empires of Greece, Rome, and Persia and India's Vedic age. After these empires fell Rome split into to zones. The western and the eastern. The western zone maintained a high level of civilization and went on to be named the Byzantine empire. The eastern zone did not do so well and fell into a dark time called The Dark Ages, aka The middle ages. During this time only bad things happened with few good things. There were many plagues, low quality of life, the Protestant reformation, a bad time for the Catholic Church also with leadership and such. Therefore the dark ages were a time where The Byzantine Empire thrived and Eastern Europe struggled to get back on track after the Classical Ages and produced few good things out of the Dark ages.

Actually Aladdin tecnically took place in the far future as the genie was doing impressions of modern-ish timey people, but was asleep/had no contact with the outside world. Thus inferring that Aladdin took place after a trahic World War, and the genie lamp/flying carpet were left over tech from before the war that had gotten trapped in the cave god knows when
