First, nothing is bulletproof. Only varying degrees of resistant. This thing isn't even Kevlar, it's Dyneema. It's lighter, but less effective.
.
These are also "tactically ineffective." They only cover the back and head in a crouched position, giving a false sense of security that is on par with nuclear duck and cover.

.
Then there is the cost. As pictured, these blankets are $1000 each. Given any average suburban elementary school: K-5, 200 students each plus a generous 100 staff is 1300 blankets for a total of $130,000.
.
Last, these weren't even meant for school shootings... they were meant for tornado protection. That's why they are BRIGHT FUCKING ORANGE. Some asshole marketer decided that these might offer ballistic protection and decided to start selling them as such... BUT they aren't even NIJ ballistic rated. The manufacturer's site dances around that with a bunch of technical terms.

If anything, get level II or IIA NIJ rated. Stops small arms and whatnot. They're like...$150 each for a lightly used set I think.

look up police surplus, cheap stuff.
ANYHOW, why the hell would you NEED to get stuff like this? I'm pretty sure that (people are going to disagree with me) the cost of implementing this isn't really worth it. As much as I'd like to have

this, the cost just isn't worth it. I'm not planning on sitting on a bomb, nor is the chance of getting shot high enough that it's worth it.
OFC, parents will say that they'll do anything to guarantee their kid's safety. If so, spare the hundred-fifty and go to a safer goddamn school in a safer goddamn neighborhood.
So, don't get the government to deal with the fact that it's so easy to shoot up a school, make it the school's responsibility to protect the kids from being shot.
Seems legit.
He probably is street. I go to a school with mostly black people, and that's just how they talk. You get used to it. I actually find it funny when I see posts like this, the "shit" and "niggas" enhance the story

That's...a very god way of putting it...
Seems legit.
