Another way to look at this, aside from the poorly worded Facebook Filosophy, is that even though he was holding pain inside, he still wanted to bring happiness to others.
That's very true. So don't share your pain to the masses. Tell someone who'll give you an objective view. That way we can't tell you that we love you because of who you are, we'll support you because we're fellow humans. And most of us humans tend to not want each other to hurt themselves.
Go ahead and downthumb instead of engaging in conversation, people. I happen to share the thought process above. I'm not going to go all "first world problems" on you guys, but let's just say that there's very little in life that makes me happy, so I try to joke around a lot because I don't want other people to feel like I do.

And the whole POINT of some mental illnesses is that you CAN'T talk about how you're feeling. There's no point in saying "please talk!". The thing we need to learn is to recognise people who are hurting, and how they are hiding it- and then try to be there for them- to stop them from slipping further away.
