Alright, people, I'm moving the FS servers to Denmark whether the admins like it or not. You want FS, you're coming to Denmark! Trust me, it'll be great!
*wheeling trolley with servers on it*
I'm curious about the work week. Does that mean that they are required to give you no less than 33 hours weekly or they are not allowed to let you work more than 33 hours a week?
.
I ask because I can be a bit of a workaholic when I get wrapped up in a project and work 60 hours in a week and not not really have noticed.
Public employees work 37 hours but their lunch break (formally 29 minutes) isn't counted as a break, so they only have to be in the office 37 hours per week. Industry employees work longer hours than that.
How "33" came into the equation I seriously don't know.
It balances out though, with free childcare, health care and free university, there's a greatly reduced strain on their income.
.
I remember hearing about their high tax rate years ago, but the source failed to mention how much was able to be provided for by the state as a result of that taxation.
It was probably a lame attempt at a "See? Look at how much the evil Europeans tax, not like good old 'Murica."
when there is a higher minimum wage the prices will have to go up.
the healthcare doesn't have the quality like they do in the U.S.
SOCIALISM
thats why greece is in the toilet. your headed their
We have free healthcare and a good minimum wage in australia and were doing great. Greeces economy is screwed because of political issues and imbezelment, not because of their health care system.
On top of that add the world's highest taxes and the highest consumer prices in the European Union. Also add the highest youth alcohol consumption in the European Union and one of the highest suicide rates in the world.
Back in April 2013 Denmark had a big lockout issue. So we students had exactly 1 month break, April 28th to May 28th, which was bad for the teachers. Because they couldn't teach us students and they didn't get paid. And in 2013 after the summer break, the students and teachers got more school/work hours. And after the summer 2014, the teachers ain't allowed to work outside of the school hours, which is 6-7 hours .. And kids who is 7 years need to learn english now, before it was 10. And kids who is 11 years need to learn german now, before it was 13.
Hope you guys understood my bad english :).
This isnt about race. Its about basic democracy vs socialism. Of course we want to improve as a country. But changing the very thing that made us great (freedom and capitalism)....moreover chainging into a model of government that has proven to be stagnant at best is a bad decision. Shame on you for trying to make it racist.
It isn't about race *at all*, and shame on you for trying to make a stupid straw man argument to divert attention away from your bad argument. People didn't want to give black folk or women the vote. Robber barons didn't want FDR to create Social Security, or Medicare because it sought to change the country "into something its not."
It is about changing the status quo. If you want to live in a world where only the wealthy 1% get the best medical treatment, the best homes, the best tax breaks and frankly the best of everything, do nothing. Let the corporations (which are now people, according to Romney) make your decisions for you, and tell you who's to blame for your troubles.
The source of your entire problem is in fact *you*. This whole 'I've got mine, so screw you' attitude of conservatives and people with - at best - a crap memory pisses me off to no end. The good old days were very rarely good. Civilization moves forward when everyone - especially the poorest, weakest members - move forward as well. If a socialist approach to healthcare allows a potential Einstein, Faraday or Tesla to develop properly as a child, then I say, use the socialist approach. EVERY SINGLE TIME.
You cannot live in the past, and you are not living in the present. You are living in the future as it unfolds. Learn to see ahead, and not backwards.
Wow. What planet are you living on? A socialist gov't run healthcare delivers mediocre care at best (do the veterans ring a bell?). Do your homework. Also Einstein, Tesla and many other great minds reached their true potential here in the U.S. NOT in a socialist society. As Winston Churchill put it, "Socialism is the equal sharing of misery."
As well, Einstein, et. al. *had to survive* to actually make it to the US. Without proper healthcare, they might have died in childhood from a preventable illness, or ended up as a factory worker due to malnutrition, etc. You missed the point, instead turning America into some magical place where, upon arrival, emerge from a wizard-inspired coccoon to become full-fledged geniuses. Maybe you live in that nationalistic circle jerk, but the rest of us live on the planet Earth. You give people the chance to make something of themselves, and give some of them an extra boost when the need it, and you get good results.
And lastly, universal healthcare isn't socialism:

So, first part of your argument is wrong; great healthcare exists only across The Pond. Consider traveling more. The reason that the veterans get lousy healthcare is that Republicans use them as a political football:

So, you know, homework done. Maybe take your own advice, guest.

Only overgrown adolescents think like this. As a taxpayer it pisses me right off.
