Navy SEAL sniper. 4 tours, hundreds of confirmed kills. The greatest sniper in US military history.
He wrote a book called American Sniper, a movie came out about his life and book.
He's killed kids and pastors and religious figures, but only when he could confirm that they meant to aid in the killing of innocent or allied personal.
Some hate him, most love him.
He died a few years ago while trying to help a now ex-Marine who has PTSD.
Considering that those kids were carrying bombs...a war lives little choice - it's either them or you and your allies..and then there are orders too. In fact if you read the book, he had to radio in every single suspicious activity and receive a permission to engage. At the end if each day he had to fill out the log of all his kills and surrounding circumstances.
The reply "Killed kids? That's pretty crazy." gets downvoted, are you serious? How appalled would Americans have been if a muslim would have killed American kids if a psycho had given them grenades... It's fine when shooting "savage" men, women and children pleasures an American but if someone kills an American everyone loses their minds.
There are many insane people on this planet, and yeah ISIS people are sick!! No doubt. You should just consider that not *every* Afghan, Iraqi etc. just wants to kill Americans for no reason, at some point some of them just want to protect their own people from getting killed by "democracy bombs". You won't bring peace to a country you destroy.
Yeah you completely missed the context there didn't you guest? Of course it's a terrible thing to kill a kid. But if said kid has a grenade in hand or a bomb strapped to their chest and is running towards you and/or your friends/comrades what choice do you have?
Yes, thepacifist. Why don't they leave them alone? Do you think these people feel the need for American soldiers, for their "killing for democracy" or whatever? How can you even show someone how democracy works if you just overrun the country? If muslims would invade the US to spread their ideas wouldn't the US try to resist, as needed even by killing the invaders? Your answer is probably "Yes", so why shouldn't muslims be allowed to defend themselves?
Replace "US" & "Middle East" (or the specific country names) by just "A" & "B" and then take a look at what A does to B, ask yourself why it's legitimate that A does something to B and why it would be illegitimate if B would do the same to A. Try to view it without the holy patriotism and without thinking "We're the good ones, that's just the way it is". Try to see the actions without regarding your emotional connection to a specific area on this planet.
Aren't you too much of a bitch to realize that people want to live, no matter where they are from? How should I be ashamed that my soldiers are out there protecting my life from a kid with a grenade in his hand? Is it wrong that I want to live? If I, were a soldier, no matter what country from, saw a kid running towards me with a grenade in his hand, I would shoot him. I would shoot him because I WANT TO LIVE. If anyone has an intention to hurt me, let alone kill me, I have a right to defend myself. And stop whining about how the extremists didn't do shit. THEY TOOK DOWN OUR FUCKING TRADE CENTER. We didn't bomb them first, motherfucker. They attacked us, we attack them.
What, no comment, guest? I bet you forgot about 9/11 entirely. We did not attack a country; we attacked a group. And by the way, since you seem to have forgotten, 9/11 is where that group (Al Qaeda) attacked us. And Chis Kyle didn't fight ISIS. He fought Al Qaeda, who just so happened to be in these countries; Iraq, Afghanistan, and a little bit of Kuwait. We did not attack the country's governments, we attacked Al Qaeda. We don't "Kill for democracy", We kill for our freedom and when someone challenges that freedom. And don't get me started on the attack at Charlie Hebdo. I bet you don't know shit about that, too. Charlie Hebdo is a comic strip maker in France. They made fun of whatever religious figure they believe in. And as per usual, the extremists get butthurt. They arrived in a Citroen, got out, AKs in hand, and killed twelve people. A 92 year old was one of them. A 92 year old. So stop trying to justify what they do. They brainwash kids and mothers.
They rape women and kill anyone who rats them out to the Americans.
"How can you even show someone how democracy works if you just overrun the country?" We weren't showing them democracy, you halfwit. This wasn't Imperialism; this was war. And murder is not a thing in Wartime. Murder is a killing of a civilian by a civilian in a peaceful country not in wartime. And there's no reason why anyone can't defend themselves. Anyone has a choice in anything. So yes, we are the good ones in this situation. But don't come here and assume that we think "that's the way it is".
And for the killing kids thing, some of them are forced to do so. Remember the Hitler Youth? No, of course you don't. Kids as young as 10 were put in German uniforms and forced to fight. This is been happening at least since then. And you act like it isn't hard mentally to kill a kid. It must be the most painful thing to ever do. They do it to save their friends.
So, as my rant comes to a close, I'd like to tell you a few things:
Get your shit straight before pulling out your keyboard.
Get off FS and never come back; you are the scum of the Earth.
And lastly, GET REKT.
While some people do hate the U.S., there are multiple countries that love it too. So many other countries are hated more, whether righteously or not, they are still hard more than the U.S. Some examples include: North Korea, Iraq, Iran, Palestine, Israel, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ukraine, and Russia.
He was soldier and did what he was told to do, which was basically laying in a dich killing people from a safe distance, cause that's s what he was good at. What you call such a person, is very much determined by your personal agenda. In my book, calling him a hero for this, sheds a strange light on a lot of persons I would consider heroes. For me, a hero puts up his own life für the sake of others. I guess, there is just a few completely delusional twits who actually believe, little arab kids need to be shot "cause of 9/11. Wipe the foam off your mouth and join a militia. Most decent people have a feeling of shame deep within, when they hear of his "feats", and the "hero" celebration helps numbing this.
Using the logic "people are heroes for doing what they're told" then wouldn't Nazi's, ISIS, and others we call evil also be called heroes? I'm not saying they are but it's just I don't really consider him a hero for following orders.
The amount of Muslim hate in this comment section is astounding. I feel like the hate's directed towards ISIS and terror organizations in general but the way things are worded is so broadly anti-Muslim it's almost sickening.
I'm really sorry, it's not that I don't respect the guy, it's just that he killed all those people, including innocents if the movie is any bit true, in a war that the U.S. themselves started to gain oil. Rest in peace and all that, but let's not get carried away. Killing is murder no matter how you slice it.
The only problem with this analogy is that if you're at work and a gunman comes in, that gunman is the US military and Chris Kyle is the one who shoots you when you try to defend yourself.
Because that won't do anything to make him let go of the grenade or put down the gun.
Also, the leg is a hard target to hit. It tends to move around a lot.
I've been told that you're trained to shoot for the center of mass every single time. Never go for a disabling shot or headshot because you'll miss far more often.
Real life isn't like a movie. There are no "trick shots," there is no shooting the gun out of the persons hand, or shooting them in the leg. When you fire you aim for the center of mass and you keep firing until the threat is neutralized.

Neither is saving a life.
