Trying to prove, trying to disprove. Just live your life and let people believe what they want. I'm quite tired of this mess. You believe God isn't real? Good for you. You believe God is real? That's great. Just don't be a jerk about it.

Yeah, like i'm an atheist but i don't really care if you do believe in a god as long as it doesn't hurt other people
Honestly it is disrespectful to judge someone else's religion, no matter what religion it is. If it comforts them, then don't try to ruin it for them. I'm not talking to the person who posted this, just talking to everyone in general.
"Lol yeah I am christian why?"
"Omfg you're a Christian stfu stop pushing your beliefs on me leave me alone"
"Okay sorry i was just hoping to bring more people into the same wonderful world I live in... I apologise"
"K, but hay look here is a thousand different pics and text posts that are totally aimed to piss creationists of all sorts off, but if you don't find it funny stfu"
Creationists are ruining the next generation by telling children that all science is fake. Religion is fucking this world up more than it used to. I am personally afraid of another dark age

Durell, sorry if any atheists/agnostics have actually done that (I'm agnostic) but it does go every which way. Different theists telling each other they're wrong, atheists telling agnostics they're wrong, agnostics telling atheists they're wrong, theists telling atheists they're wrong, atheists telling theists they're wrong....I can't even put it into that many combinations. It's honestly quire ridiculous and I've never understood it. I'll personally accept everyone's religions as long as they really DON'T push their religions onto anyone (I knew a guy who constantly tried to convert me to Judaism even though I'm perfectly happy without a religion and find happiness in other places, and another girl who asked me what my religion was. When I said agnostic, she yelled at me saying that meant she knew I wanted God in the end, then hit me on the head. Crazy people, really.)
In the end, it's just another form of xenophobia. Nobody wants anyone to be different. It's quite sad, really.
I am totally okay with anybody believing in anything but whoever posted this obviously did so with intentions of pissing creationists off. Idk I mean be honest how many posts do you see calling out athiests (Educated posts)? I personally haven't seen one? But everytime I come to any of my favourite humour sites I am told what's wrong with the world for believing in what they believe is just fairytale. In the bible(pliez no hate) it says that God gives us free will to do anything we want but he created consequences as well. So when idiots like the person you mentioned try to convert people (well I mean push it constantly) it pisses me off just as much as you because in most religions it is stated the power of free will and consequence. I'm sorry about any uneducated creationists coming your way with idiotic remarks.
There are quite a few ways, actually. Calling them secretly Satanic is a huge one. I don't think some people understand the concept that atheism means you don't believe in Satan anyway.
Well, slightly, but no more than being called an asshole. In that respect it's just an insult, it's certainly not "calling them out".

But that's what I mean. By saying calling yout out is to insult you, used during cowboy times(dono what that era was called) ,that phrase was used to indult an opponent and get them to fight.
To "call someone out" may include an insult, but the main purpose is to challenge them in some way, not just to taunt them. Calling out an atheist would have to include some form of challenge to his atheism.
40 comments? What a total surprise.
TL;DR People being atheist dicks for the sake of being edgy, mixed with very respectful people (including atheists, thanks) and a few comments barking up the wrong tree.
I'm gonna take a step down and say "I don't know". It's a legit answer to this question. I won't try to fool you with an answer a typical Christian would give. I'm sorry if you were expecting more, but I don't want to lie.
*hits blunt, takes LSD* we should all expand our minds together, who is anyone to say if God is real or not. Religious people I get it, faith is your proof, do not tell me the Bible, because the Quran is a different religion's proof of God, so it's faith. Atheists, you might be the dumbest fucking people on the face of the earth, where is the undeniable proof that God does not exist? And don't give me that science disproved God shit either, show me the study and conclusion. God is neither man or woman, it is something greater than any of us could understand so we should stop trying and let each other be.
Again. I'm agnostic and in my words I see it as. Can't disprove god but you can't prove god either so it's not really worth trying. My problem is that some religious people call science fake. For lack of a better point atm. (Sorry it's 4:30 a.m. Here) don't deny something that has obviously been proven and can be observed But believe in something that is unobservable and think you're not an asshole. Or get mad when people think you're stupid
I don't think I stated that I identify with anything. Just that God is not able to be understood by us. Although I did say atheists are stupid yes, how can someone know with 100% certainty that there is not something greater than us. I never stated science is fake (for the record it is very real), I simply said that science does not disprove God nor does it prove God. Science and God are two seperate things. I do believe how ever that God is different for every person, so it's impossible to define and give rules to. God isn't some religious thing it's something bigger than that, God can not be understood because its in the minds of people. Thoughts are unobservable until they are written down, so whatver an individual defines God as thats what God is for that person, therefore able to be written down and observed. You say your agnostic in my opinion that makes you the asshole think for yourself instead of sayin "uhh no evidence for or against, no decision".
Like I said. I don't see evidence for or against the existence of god so there's no point arguing. That is thinking for myself you idiot. That's what I believe so technically I'm agnostic. I didn't go around looking for something that sounds good to me and be like "yep guess that's what I am" I hardly care to put a label on what I am anyway, agnostic just fits. If god is different for everyone, why is the bible even relevant to some people? If its different for everyone why is religion even a thing. And moreso why does it get in the way of equality? I'm not just arguing science. I'm arguing everything bad that religion causes.
God is a thought in the human brain and to deny that thought is to deny your brain God is a grey area that cant be categorized. God is a personal thing that exists in every single person, not something that should be worshiped but something that should be felt. If you don't feel that then I'm sorry that you haven't experienced life. Go lay in the sun on a beautiful day, how does that make you feel? That is God. Having a tough day and want to take a shower and cry? That is God. Get out there and achieve greatness because what ever God is to you that's what God is. Don't let me or anyone else tell you other wise.
Buddy, I'm not religious so don't mistake my thoughts on God for defending religions. God and religion are not mutually exclusive, once you understand that you'll understand where I'm at. Thanks for making me sound like a scientist I appreciate the compliment sweetheart.
Some of what you said sounds like its about religion and I guess some doesn't. If you're not religious. Why call things like "peace and serenity" god? There's obvious explanations an terms for what you're talking about so why call it god if you're not religious?
So way back when I was in high school I took a psychology class. Part of the class was go to NA meetings, I went to a few meetings and one of the steps is "... God as we understood him" fast forward to college, I take some acid, trip got intense, was at the shore and went to the beach for sunrise and was over whelmed with a feeling of something That might have been calmness i dunno how to describe it. Started thinking again and it all just fell into place after that. Just had a crazy trip, and realized that God is anything you choose God to be, not how it's defined by religions.
>does drugs that completely fuck with perceptions and thought processes
>thinks what he experienced is profound and real, not just his neurons misfiring like motherfuckers
How would you infer that LSD made him sucessful from what I said? You should find out what a sucessful man said about LSD. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you've never done it, so do you really know what happens during a trip if you've never experienced one? Sure there's documentation but do you know how the experience effects you? Probably not. If you have, it must have been a bad trip and for that I am sorry buddy. I won't knock you for not trying it, it's your personal choice, but you shouldn't knock me for trying it either, especially if you have not.
I apologize, I assumed you were using Steve's success as a means of legitimizing the use of a hallucinogenic drug. I've read what he said about LSD, its no more convincing than anyone else's account of it's "mind expanding" effects. Which I have, in fact experienced. Certainly it's an intense amazing mind-fucking high, but nothing paradigm altering, as it's a hallucination, and not real.
Faith. This is the most important part of the answer. There are things you can't explain, that you just feel! You say you can't prove the existence of God (but read what Kurt Goedel had to say), but you can't prove His non existence either. It's like in science, you see: sometimes you miss that single link in the chain (e.g. a protein) which would help to explain a biochemical process (e.g. neurofibrillary tangles in Alzheimer's disease)... Is it because that link does not exist? Or is it because you don't have the right tools to detect it? YET? Every discovery opens up a new world of possibilities, and this applies to every aspect of our life, be it medicine, be it maths, be it religion! Don't be granitic in your opinions, change your point of view, experience. Even though often I don't understand how life works (I think I'm actually missing this ability!!! :D), I truly believe in God, because no-one else could have designed such an infinite universe in which all the gears match!
Honestly, I'm an atheist, but I believe that everyone has the right to their religion and trying to disprove each others beliefs is pointless. I think people should be free to believe in what they need to to get through their day. Live and let live, guys <3
But all that is doing is trying to disprove a religion, and I think religion is important for those who need it. Some people just cannot live with the idea that nothing happens when you die, that evil things happen because some people are just evil, etc. Many people, especially when loved ones pass, sons, daughters, grandparents, mothers, fathers, people need to believe that they are in a better place. I couldn't bear taking that feeling of security and hope away from someone, and that's what arguing about it does.
Its not a matter of hurting someone's feelings, its a life altering experience and for some it is for the worse. The information should most certainly be put out into the world for people to discover it but on their own terms when they are ready to know the "truth". If someone is not ready to face this truth, whatever it may be, yet it is forced upon them (which arguing about it does), it will impact their lives in substantial ways. Like I have said, I'm a 100% atheist with VERY little doubt or questioning (of course I keep my mind open to information, but so far with all the data I have collected, I'm very certain in my conclusion that a God or Gods do not exist). But I can handle that realization because I myself went through the work of research, but forcing it onto someone else such as in an argument will do more harm than good.
A way to prove that God exists it to think about His tomb, along with other so-called 'God's' tombs. If you look in the tomb where Buddha was buried, you will find bones. If you look in Muhammad's tomb, you will also find bones. But if you look in the tomb where Jesus died, you will find nothing. Proof #1: Jesus Christ is the only God that was raised from the dead. Yes, people of other religions will say, "Well, the disciples could have stolen the body." The Bible states that a huge boulder was placed to block the entrance of the tomb. It took many, many soldiers to put it in its place. Proof #2: The disciples could not have moved the tomb on their own. The guards claimed that the body was stolen while they were asleep, but sleeping on the job resulted in death. Proof #3: The accusation of the disciples stealing it could not have been correct anyway.
My uncle harold's tomb has no bones either, is he a god too? Nope, cause I dont have an uncle named harold, he doesn't exist. Just the lack of bones doesn't mean shit.
As a christian, I am constantly thinking and trying to prove and disprove God. It's part of my spirituality as an intellectual person. I think God would encourage logic and digging deeper into the human capability of thought. Assuming his existence, he gave you your brain did he not? People who follow God or Atheism blindly do not know the joy of exploring their brain's potential for thought on such a deep subject.
The bible? As in the best selling book of all time? First BOOK to be made a book? The single MOST HISTORICALLY ACCURATE piece of literature in existence today? The book that archeologists use to find where to dig for cities? The book that has yet to be found false in any of its accounts of history, what we can prove through observation?
1. Popularity doesn't define accuracy.
2. Other than the bible, there are absolutely no credible proof of a man named Jesus Christ walking the Earth. (Unlike Muhammad or Buddha)
3. The bible was written in order to organize Christianity in the Roman empire in order for Emperor Constantine to better control his subjects.
1. Granted, popularity has nothing to do with its accuracy, but when something has been taken on as truth for so long by so many peopl, it duserves to be examined
2. There is ALOT of evidence for Jesus outside of the Bible. http://coldcasechristianity.com/2014/is-there-any-evidence-for-jesus-outside-the-bible/
3. The bible was written loooong before Constantine. The Old Testament has been used by the Jews for thousands of years. Also, most of the Europeans that Charlameign ruled could not read, so making up a bible to control them wouldn't help, that's be like giving money to a one year old
The English translation of the bible is full of mistranslations so if you want what was much more literally written you need to read the Hebrew texts and/or the Latin translation.

Guys, chill a little. I don't think the post was made to upset anyone, it was probably just there to question things (which I think is perfectly fine, because if you never question anything then life gets a little bit boring.) Nobody's saying you're wrong in believing whatever you believe, be that a deity or not. Isn't the reason religions are called faith is because you believe in it no matter what?

And most people who don't have faith don't think the universe was designed at all.
