Than keep standing up, you don't deserve the seat.

Exactly its PUBLIC transportation and also I bet you only paid for yourself and not twice once for you and once for your bag. Your the asshole some random person may have to sit next to.
Still. Not very heavy. Your bag is not more important than somebody in need of a seat. It's called common courtesy. Quit being a selfish prick, you're not better or more important than anybody else out there.
Well, guess what, Incase you missed it, I also have to carry around a lot of equipment for Culinary School, some of it is going to end up on a neighboring seat, whether you like it, or not.
I carry a 20lbs backpack by choice as a workout. I also walk just about everywhere I need to go. Get used to being on your feet, otherwise you'll end up out of a job at whatever restaurant hires you.
I already know that, one, I already have a job where I'm on my feet for at least seven hours, (not food service), and do you know how long the classes are? Along with the skills necessary for the job, they're also helping us get used to standing for the possible 16 hour shifts. Believe me, I know what I'm getting into. Just like your bag carrying, it to, was by choice.
Okay. Why does it go in the seat, instead of on the floor? Quit complaining about a bag or two that is at most, a combined weight of 55-60 lbs. There are men and women out there who stand/run for extended periods of time that don't sit down unless absolutely necessary. Those are the ones fighting for your freedoms. Not for your punk ass to be damn lazy and be disrespectful. So what if your bags are heavy? Get the hell over it, and be a respectful person, instead of trying to come up with excuses as to why your bags are in the seat. Jesus.
Don't block the fucking doors!
But I still don't put it on a seat.
