Yes!!! One of the US diplomats wrote top secret info on a white board during the negotiations with Iran. She accidentally used a permanent marker.

At the pre-school I worked at, we used Lysol spray. Let it sit for a minute and then most of it wiped away. The other trick I learned there was put a splash of pine-sol in a garbage pail full of water. It gets the smell of baked baby poo out of plastic.
