He wasn't charged with any crimes since he stopped short of killing the freak, plus he was protecting a minor from assault. I can't honestly say I'd have the same self control to stop then again I don't have kids either but wouldn't hesitate to beat the crap out of anyone I catch hurting a kid!

well of course there's bound to be people in there that have been separated from their kids who they might have loved very much-they wouldn't feel any differently than the father.

I heard of a study that pedophiles, just like it is with every other sexual orientation, can't help it. They are born this way. So they can't do anything against being attracted by children, but they don't have to touch or rape children. Basically they can't change what they're attracted to but they can control their actions.
that's sort of how I feel on the subject. You can't help who you're attracted too- and while I can't lie, I would see someone differently if they were attracted to children, I wouldn't hold it against them so much. If they got advice/ councelling for it, even better. But when someone consciously chooses to target a child for sexual intention- I'll stab a bitch.
I think i heard of a movie about a pedophile who says that he knows that targetting children is wrong and he is never going to do that. In fact he suffers because of his sexual orientation first of all because how it is perceived in public which makes it hard to openly talk about it and discuss it, this again makes it difficult to cope with it, and second because he knows that it is difficult if not impossible for him to live what is perceived as a 'normal life'. He knows that he is probably not able to have a partner not to mention marry or having children. Which excludes a immense part of what is called 'private life'. If you think of your 'private life' it may include friendships, family and sexual life. His sexual orientation will cause him problems in (at least) those three areas.
Ive never thought of a situation where something like that was possible, that it really could be out of their control. Thanks for showing us a new perspective guys.
