Imagine if you could unhinge the stomach without hurting the tortoise. You could store stuff inside and have a walking safe. No-one ever suspects the tortoise...

We had to dissect a turtle in my AP bio class and it took 45 minutes to take apart the shell on the stomach, which is the thinnest barrier.
