It is funny and I'm helping people learn english as they teach me Japanese . It goes both ways as I know some of my penpals throw in a few chuckles while I try my best at speaking their language.
I don't mind when people speak broken English to me, however, I work at a zoo with a lot of international guests, and I'm sick of foreign people calling me racist for not knowing their language! (usually Spanish or Portuguese, but others too)
You know what, I hate when people speak with broken English and already think they are the master almighty. But when you correct them (because why not), they call you a grammar nazi or a jerk and such. Sometimes they don't really want to learn, they just want to show-off (well at least some people in my country does). If you intended to learn another language, make sure to actually learn it and respect it. Know your mistake and fix it.
