I'm from Iowa.
I call it soda.
Pop is a weird word.

I live in Minnesota and we all call it pop, nobody calls it soda

We say coke in Texas.

No one born after 1995 says pop

Most people in Michigan say "pop", so I always get weird looks when I ask for soda.

In England we don't say pop we say soft drink or fizzy drink or yaknow just call it by its aCTUAL NAME

In Ireland (Donegal at least) soft drink and mineral are used

I say coke, preceded by "rum and".

Coke isn't just coca-cola until you clarify it's coca-cola, coke is general for soft drinks.

In Australia we call it fizzy drink or soft drink or just plain bubble drinks or by the name

From my experience it seems as if most people in the south from where I am say soda and thinks it weird when people say pop. I feel that way too cause that's where I'm from. And now I'm living up north and I've found that they say pop and feel that it's weird when I say soda.

In Texas we say coke...as in what kind of coke do you want? A Dr. Pepper.

I usually ask if the place has Coke or Pepsi. If they have Pepsi, I order Iced Tea. Sweet Iced Tea, because I live in the South. If they have Coke, I order Coke with a slice of lemon.

It took me a while to get used to it. To me Soda is soda (like water with gas)
