Just don't forget folks... DOTA2 was being developed while Valve wasn't developing HL3. It has been cited as being "a contributing distraction to the dev of the game that built the company in the first place."
If anything, it's probably the development of the new source engine that's hindering HL3's release. I'm pretty sure there's a whole complete separate team focusing on DOTA 2.
No they're not. Nor are they making Portal 3. Not even DOTA 3... they've gone as far as abandoning the trademark for it.

Only games with professional teams that compete in tournaments and recognized by the US as professionals are branded as Esports. The US gives international players the same Visas as pro sports players, so you could say they're pretty official lol.
