I totally relate to this. I mean, don't get me wrong, jeans and t-shirts are comfy and great and all, but walking into somewhere with a fitted vest, tie, and a double breasted coat makes you feel like you can conquer the world. Unfortunately it's seems like nowadays so many people don't take pride any in their appearance (which is their right of course), but I just figure that life is too short to not dress nicely.
That's totally the thing. I almost pity myself for being a girl and not be able to just put on a suit and look fancy as hell. Although I really like having all the clothing options that girls have.
And one advantage of female attire is if you don't feel like color matching an outfit you can wear a skirt or dress, which is nice. I love wearing suits and looking classy, but trying to make sure all five or six pieces of your outfit match properly can be agonizingly tricky at times.
That's true, never thought about that. But trust me, it goes for women as well pretty often, because they do not wear dresses everyday (although that would be quite wonderful). And wearing a dress to a party that you've worn on another party in the past year is surely a no-go so that's expensive.
Suits have their place, and it isn't very many. Not to mention that if I have to dress up to impress you, I'm not not interested I knowing you.
Cargo khakis, a polo and boots. Looks good, functional and far more practical. You can get far more done wearing that and it's equally more comfortable.
I think it's funny that so many of these responses are, "I don't dig suits because they're uncomfortable." Trust me, if your suit is super uncomfortable than you need to buy a better suit. Professional suits tend to be made fairly light and when they're tailored to you properly they fit to perfection. It's not like renting a tux for prom where they are pre-packaged outfit combos that aren't tailored well and don't feel comfy.
I think this is true for all young men than. Because I feel like when you're older most people have to wear a suit 5 times a day or dress nice for something and that must get old. But as somebody that's younger it feels nice to look more grown up and smooth.
