If they laid bare cables on top of the road and we attached a conductive metal rod across the bottom of the cars, we could propel the cars with the B field in a fashion identical to a railgun's function.
Never mind. I saw that they were driving on the side that we do in North America and that but I didn't notice that there was another highway to the right of it. So it may be England. I apologize for my stupidity
Hmmm... I live in England and I drive and listen to the news. .. this is the first I've heard of it. Any other English out there seen or heard that were doing this????
Too bad you Britons must not use this jolly old search engine named google... seems the english gov has just recently made plans to test this, so the pic is probably just fictious.
Well the picture is certainly not from English roads... we drive on the left.

The photo isn't real. Look at the sign. The sign itself and it's color suggests the sun is facing it directly, but if you look at the shadow, that would suggest that the sun is on the side of it. Also it seems to be facing straight forward.
I'm from England. Never heard of it 'til this FS post but I'm not doubting it... yet. Also, I'm from London where there are signs everywhere about how TFL are improving transport etc. and still havn't seen mention of this. So I don't know.
In this article it says that South Korea already have them, and they work, why aren't we focussing on that! - The first I hear of it is that it *might* be coming to a western developed country, not that it already works and it's already placed throughout south korea. Gah. Rant :')
It's incredibly expensive not to mention most people do not drive electric cars so it would be useless, unless everyone had to buy new cars and then it would clog up freeways for months just to get a section done
