I don't think it has anything to do with boys anymore. In the past people were in this heavily censored Christian mentality where anything even remotely sexual was deemed inappropriate and that trickled down through schools and other public things. That being said schools still take a stand against somewhat sexual things, although we don't see them as that anymore because we're becoming more desensitized to sex and sexuality, the issue as I see it is we're in a society that still follows old thinking. Then again the argument could be later that our way of thinking could be the old way in the future.
our school doesn't care as long as you have some self respect. I don't care what other girls wear as long as their ass and tits aren't falling out of whatever they're wearing.
I have to ask you, theflyingtrooper, what's so wrong with my comment. Most schools don't give two shakes of a stick about regular t-shirts and short skirts or short shorts just aren't appropriate for school. Those two things are both true and yet you act as if they aren't. Why?

you won't get sent home for that but you will because you dress like a slut, it's not because it's distracting it's because you need some self respect

And who are you to tell women they're sluts because they wear shorts?
What about the girl who was sent home because her collarbones were showing? Most of the time the girls 'violating' the dress code are just wearing normal clothes befitting the weather. Are you saying that a girl shouldn't wear a dress or a skirt or shorts or shirts with spaghetti straps in 90+ degree weather because it 'distracting for the boys'? Bull fucking shit. Taking a girl out of school for showing her shoulders or thighs is telling her that her education isn't as important as the boys.

I've been outside in 103° and I don't need to wear short shorts
Up next from ajhedges: "I'm on a diet so nobody can have donuts," "I can drive a stick so nobody needs automatic," and "I don't have malaria so nobody needs medicine." Usually mainifests in the "I don't get attention when I dress a certain way, so to hell with those terrible, semi-attractive people who do and nobody should get to dress that way" argument.
An important thing to note is that if you think that a girl should be allowed to wear spaghetti straps, dresses, skirts, and shorts that violate the finger tip rules then you should support boys being able to do the same stuff.
Also, theflyingtrooper and envius, you don't need short shorts to survive the freaking heat. A regular pair of shorts will do a good job and you won't get in trouble for wearing them. The fact that you two made such rude, insulting, and overdramatic posts just shows that you're a bunch of self centered brats who hate that they can't have their way all the time.
Please go into an affordable store for young girls (high school age) and find me a pair of shorts that isn't too short for school. They aren't in fashion so they aren't easy to find. When I was in high school (in Florida) I basically scoured the world for dresses/skirts/shorts that fit the arms-at-your-sides rule. I almost never found any and was thus forced to wear jeans...
>dress codes don't exist for boys
