The male puts all his sperm in a modified arm, which breaks off and is inserted into the female. The male then swims off, never to be involved again. When the female decides she is ready to fertilize her eggs she takes the arm and squeezes it, releasing the sperm all over her eggs.
Someone explain to me why most animals have their females so much bigger, stronger, and generally more capable (and annoying) whereas primates are the opposite?
