Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.
It's important to remember that Christians are not bound by the laws of the Old Testament because Christ's death on the cross created a new covenant with His people.
This never actually happened. This was written by someone that doesn't believe in religion or the bible. You can tell by the rather weak argument presented.
You can think marriage should be between a man and woman and not hate anyone, not wish ill towards anyone, or think less of anyone. Not sure why the open minded crowd can't seem to grasp it.
We're all sinners. God doesn't care about which sins we've committed, all he cares about is that we all have sin. I like to think of it this way: Each sin a person commits is a brick on top his or her head. It doesn't matter how they sin; a they get a brick for lying or hurting someone's feelings, and the get a brick for killing someone. These bricks stack up on people's heads, and everyone has a different number, but everybody has at least a few. From the ground, people can see how many bricks other people have. (This is where it isn't completely accurate because God is all-knowing and is not confined to one point of view, but for the sake of the metaphor that isn't as important) From God's perspective, looking down, all He can see is that each person has a stack of bricks on their head-that we're all sinners.
Romans 6:23 in the Bible states that the consequence of sin is death, but that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Continued: In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way and the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me." I personally believe that Jesus is the only way to go to heaven, just as the Bible says. All that we, as sinners, have to do is accept that Jesus is our Savior and turn away from our sin, and He will do the rest. Sorry for the long comment, I just believe that this needed to be put out there.
*To confirm the claims stated in the above comment that we are all sinners, you may refer to these verses: Romans 3:23, Isaiah 64:6
**To confirm the claims stated earlier in this comment that Christ cleanses us, you may refer to: 1 John 1:7-9, 1 Corinthians 15:57, Romans 8:1
Thanks!
No it isn't. We love them and respect them as we would any other person, but we are in no way supposed to support that choice, the same way we shouldn't with divorce.
What do you mean all Christians? I'm Catholic and I'm absolutely fine with gay marriage and people who are homosexual, but yes I do understand that some Christians who don't belong in any particular branch, (the hardcore ones) believe in this, but it is kind of disappointing that homophobia is pointed at all Christians out here in the world.
P.S Sorry for the troll!! :(
And the bibles supports rape and says women are should serve and not be equal to men. One of the main reasons I am atheist is because religions (mainly Christianity, Catholicism and Islam) are extremely sexist.
The Bible does NOT "support rape" just because some of the stories mention it. History books don't "support slavery" because they describe how it happened.
