Yea I don't know where burningbabycorpse got his info from because the definition of Metrosexual is a young, urban, heterosexual male with liberal political views, an interest in fashion, and a refined sense of taste.
Metro-sexual was a weird term coined for males who look after themselves, like bathe and shave and pick up after themselves. Many metrosexuals also may enjoy getting mani-pedis, spray on tans, hair cuts done by something other then a weed wacker, and are capable of picking up after themselves. Metrosexual gained a 'negative' image when "Gay Men for the Straight Man" tv show introduced the concept to USA. The anit-metro-sexual back lash was terrible in the Midwest states since the men responded by being less likely to bathe or take care of themselves. See "grunge era". Dating then was a nightmare. I started asking "does he look after himself? Bathe daily?" to my list of blind date questions ahead of "funny, republican, democrat, christian, other, etc?"
No, guest, sex is what you're born as, most commonly associated with genitals, and the term used in medical situations. Gender (identity) is shown here, hence the term for having a fluid gender identity being "genderfluid."
I, for one, have literally no idea what the point of this post is and don't know what we're implying is wrong with the statement.
We're saying genderfluid is a bullshit identity because you can't just arbitrarily change whether you feel male or female or neither or both. That's pretty damn close to a mental disorder.
But it was thought that transgender is a mental disorder, what about them?
Alright, it's been repeatedly established that some people have the physical/chemical brain of the opposite gender. That's fine. But when your brain (or you) decides to flip flop, it's a problem. Going by previously mentioned logic, that would mean that your brain is physically/chemically changing itself randomly.
yeahhhh i'm totally onboard for transgender, and i could buy into "i don't really feel like either so ill just do whatever" but to say that you are a different gender on a day by day basis is a little too... "special snowflake" for me.
There are several misconceptions about genderfluidness and they should be cleared up before anyone is able to state their opinion on it.
Stating said opinion is fine, but don't tear down other people with what you think. A simple "I disagree." will satisfy.
Rather than explaining myself, I'll link a website that describes how I feel exactly. Almost to perfect wording, as if I had written it myself. https://misconceptionsofthoughts.wordpress.com/2014/02/13/queer-gender/
Also, not saying you're wrong or misinformed, just stating in general.
Or else the person is indecisive. Indecision is different than "choosing" to be either/or at random. I can accept indecisiveness but it doesn't sit right with me that a "normal" brain would flip-flop what it feels like.
So considering this and the "you may be offended" post are so similar, I'll stick something I've been pondering overnight here because it's more related here.

As you can see from my writing, I'm against the concept of gender fluidity. However, I can't back myself up with evidence, so I won't be taking as hard a stance as I am with the bi/pan/ambi/hauselnoot/whatever argument.

Basically this means that if you can find enough solid evidence to throw at me that gender fluidity is in fact not a disorder or something, I'm willing to change my perspective. The evidence has to be something along the lines of how we said long ago that trans people have a brain that's chemically their opposite sex; they were born with the opposite brain somehow. Give me evidence on that magnitude with halfway credible sources (not that I'll check because I'm stupid) regarding the flip-floppity nature of gender fluidity being a "natural" happening.
I don't think you've ever had an argument/discussion with me.
I'm not a hardass. If you can prove my "evidence" wrong or provide newer/more credible/better evidence than mine you can convince me to switch sides.
As far as I can find, gender fluidity is caused by an imbalance of hormones, often triggered by extreme PTSD and anxiety. It's common, but most who identify are posing. You're right, it's not an accurate gender for someone who is faking it. But for those who aren't, it is. It all about the state of mind.
It's also common in female rape victims who want to be/ feel like a male as a coping thing.
When you're at school and/or work, don't you get irritated when people spout complete bullshit? Like asking how in the world Abe Lincoln became president?
Actual question from high school.
They thought Abe was black because only a black person would have bothered to help other black people back in those days, but nobody in power liked black people so how did a black guy become president?
That was their train of logic. Hurts right? So does bullshit like "gender fluid".
tylerchu, you should know that you have a guest admirer who appreciates the time you take out to explain the train of logic in threads. Have a good day.
I suppose I can try and draw another analogy with religion.
You have religious people who live and breathe religion. They have religion in their heart and soul, and they feel religious. They don't say "I'm a Christian", they say "I *AM* a Christian". These are people who firmly believe they are who they are; they are men and women and they FEEL like men and woman. They want to be and belong to the man and woman categories.
You have people simply say "I'm a Christian". These are religious people too, but they just do whatever and religion is more or less a moral guidance than a daily mandated thing. They love God and Jesus and their fellow humans and this good Earth and everything in it, but they don't stress their appreciation for it. Most of the time they don't even know they appreciate what they have simply because it's just there. These would be the "yeah I'm a guy" and "yeah I'm a girl" sort of people. They know who they are but eh...not like it really matters in a daily sense.
i would suspect its caused a bit by not feeling like you relate to people... i imagine most of the people who think they are neither or both or ambiguous or dgaf are all pretty much the same thing just interpreting their feelings differently. Would not be surprised if some of it is caused by asexuality/bisexuality(or any of the snowflake versions of bisexual) as well. i suspect that as we tear down gender roles the both/neither will fade away as identifications.
And then you have the atheists. Nah. I'm not religious. These would be the "neither gender" people, who say "I'm just not Christian or Buddhist or Jewish or Islamic or anything", or rather "I'm just not a guy or girl. Yeah I may have a dick and a pair of balls but I really don't care".
How about instead people don't force labels onto themselves. Like I don't care if you feel neither but you don't necessarily need to make something up for that. I mean I feel like a lot of kids feel they are the "wrong gender" because they like the opposite gender's stuff. But really they should just like whatever they like without feeling the need to change their gender to do as such.
I am never visiting this fucked up website again
Who the fuck you think you are to say what's wrong with other peoples lives?
They are not harming you
But you are fucking harming them when you say they're wrong or bullshit
Mind your own fucking life since you don't know shit about empathy
Assholes.
Lmao what a fucking loser the guest who wrote that rant he probably made up his own gender and believed it for so long until he/she or heshe saw this website and realized he/she or heshe was an idiot.

Not that
It's undecided whether or not gender-fluid is a valid gender?
