I just rinse mine off after using them, and you put them back in the freezer. They work great.

They're generally small granite or marble rocks, which stay cold longer than normal stones you find on the ground.

They are made of soapstone. They are non-porous so they do not absorb the liquid. They work well with alcohol because they slightly cool the drink. They would be fairly useless if you are trying to get a drink ice cold.
