I don't know how to answer this question, so I just say American. Without fail I'm then asked "well, where did your family come from?" I don't know, I'm like eighth generation American, they probably came from New Jersey or something. Too pale for direct sunlight, that's my race.
isn't for example German a nationality too tho? I never get asked what race I am.. people can clearly see Im white.. I think Ive been asked if Im a "full" Swede a handfull of times, all by americans.. and all I can say is that I think we had a Finnish familymember 8 or 9 generations back..

They're all nationalities and not races. But nobody really asks people their race unless they're using it as a colloquial way of asking family nationality or heritage. It's a subtlty most people except garlog seem to have understood from the phrasing of the post.
