How is 22°C too low? Sure, it'd be a surprise after walking in on a real scorcher, but a pleasant surprise. As for winter, that can even be seen as warm by some Aussies.

Yes, do they want it to be 40°C so we can burn alive in hell?!?

I've never had a job that wasn't absolutely freezing in the summer. Mostly because the guys in the office refuse to dress appropriately for the weather then want to jack up the AC once they come in. They make summer business casual clothing for a reason, go shop.

I wear a sweater. And a lap blanket, and a heating pad sometimes. No place I've ever worked required suits, and they sure spent a lot of time bitching about them for not being required to wear them. I guess looking into other fashion choices was considered "too gay."

You sound pretty angry, though I'm not sure why. Just because you've never worked in an institution requiring men to wear suits doesn't mean they don't exist. Also, what fashion choices are "too gay."

How do they make these conclusions? Can't they just say they would like the room to be warmer?

Whilst air conditioners are definitely NOT SEXIST, the story was about how lower temperatures work better with men's metabolism than women's

That's a mountain out of molehill. They took a scientific fact, and misconstrued it to fit whatever they were pushing.

The reasoning behind this is that the standard temperature was set for an average weight man wearing a business suit, sometimes making it too cold for women in an office. It's an outdated standard.

It's not an outdated standard for companies that require men to wear a suit. My female coworkers could wear pant suits and be warmer, but they choose to wear skirts and dresses.
