The superhero ones are selling. Science ones might be cool but they aren't as popular, therefore don't make as much money. Plus it's not like every movie company is making superhero movies, it's only a select few, they are just really good at making them, and have great advertising resources so you always know about teen, compared to lower budget Hollywood films
Um, if I may?
Of course superhero movies are selling, they've got a history and a fan base even before they come out. Science aren't as popular as you said but they are certainly popular enough to have more movies, plus they aren't as popular since, again, they don't have the same history. No, not every company makes superhero movies but they make them often and always make sure they get a lot of media attention wich isn't all that bad. I mean, the movies are good but I would be nice to see something with more thought behind it, you know? And the science movies that are good enough to make a fuss over like the Martian and the theory of everything are certainly not low budget Hollywood movies. But somethings people have worked day and night to bring accurate fact to back up. I think that maybe the science movies shouldn't replace the superhero movies entirely but that more companies should try to make them, they are very interesting after all. I'm sorry for rambling. Have a great day!
Other guest, I understand where you're coming from, but I've heard that the marsian was a total let down an the theory of everything is based on a true story, yes these movies are popular, but they're not going to give you fan bases unlike the super hero movies
They also tend to make extremely long science movies, and people lose interest. They also talk about real science, which tends to be scary to some people. Also, people get confused when people talk about some science, which makes them feel dumb, and nobody likes that feeling.
Really? I thought the Martian was amazing! Of course science movies won't get as big of a fan base as superhero movies but they is still a fan base. Science movies really aren't for everyone and I think that is ok.
I agree there should be more science movies, but without the flashy part....just the hell researchers go through until they can make advancements in their respective fields.
Why not both? I, personally (which is worth exactly nothing on the internet, I know) happen to enjoy Superhero movies, especially when they're from Marvel.

Haha, the last superhero movie I saw was Spiderman 2 back in 2004
I'm not really a fan of science movies. I mean, they're cool, sure, but they're not my thing. I would much rather watch a superhero movie, but that's just my personal preference. Fantasy is just more appealing to me. So I think that we shouldn't stop making superhero movies, but maybe we could replace the production of movies like "Fifty Shades of Gray" with science movies. Just a thought.
