I don't much care for it.
1. The live tiles. They're ugly and serve no real purpose outside of their own existence.
2. The flat icons "theme." I know this is a fad, but it's distracting.
3. Collecting large amounts of information, no way to opt out, and being unclear about what is being collected.
4. Forcing automatic updates while no longer listing what each update does.
5. The ridiculous campaign to get people to download the damn thing! My God! Microsoft's own website is just a giant Windows 10 ad.
6. Doesn't really improve over 7 in any meaningful way.
I could live with it, but it's not something I would go out of my way to get, unlike XP and 7.

My PC is basically "K.I.A." but I still prefer 7. I abhor 8. P.i.t.A. to work with.
10 is best after XP IMO.
1. I use the live tiles so I could fit many things there instead of having a cluttered desktop. I like having the desktop clean.
2. That's just artistic stuff.
3. Not like every single website and program doesn't collect info about you. Google even shows ads that are determined by what websites you go to.
4. So many problems with 7s and 8s are caused by people not wanting to upgrade to fix the problems.
5. That is quite annoying, but doesn't have anything to do with the performance of the OS.
6. Better performance.
To be honest it used to happen to me that the computer randomly froze and I couldn't do anything about it, I had to disconnect it from the power source for it to shut down. And the sound used to randomly dissapear. It happened very rarely and I think it doesn't even happen anymore, thanks to the new updates. I like the design and the customization, also it runs faster and more smoothly because it doesn't have any of the Aero crap like Win7 had (don't get me wrong though, I loved Win7). I like the apps too, I find them very convenient. And considering it's made to fit both computers and mobile devices, I think they did a hell of a good job on it.
Overall, I think it's an improvement. It's just the nostalgia fanboys who're pointing out every tiny flaw that have caused setbacks.
I don't think it has anything to do with nostalgia. I'm still not used to win10. Some things are good and some are not. For example all the useless crap on win10. I just don't like it and in my opinion it's not nostalgia that causes that feeling. It's good when you like it, but that doesn't mean, that everybody else hast to.
Maybe nostalgia isn't the right word, but you have to admit that there are people who hate new things simply because they hate change. Some of my classmates even said they don't want to upgrade just because "they're used to [whatever OS they have]". That's not a good approach.
Besides, what do you mean by "useless crap"? So far I've found most things rather useful, so I wonder what you're bothered by.
I do agree that there are people who just hate new things. I for example have both - win7 and win10 (2 laptops) I can compare them. I don't know how you all it in English but I don't like the start menu (when you click on the windows sign on the left side at the bottom) It is unclear and it is hard to find something (my opinion) And with "usless crap" I mean Groove-music, xbox, store, finances,... All that stuff. I haven't figured out how to organize that. So...maybe it's just me, but in my opinion win10 is...okay?...but there is just some stuff that bothers me (f.e. the start menu)
Hmm, personally I got used to the Start menu quite fast. It's definitely different, but I wouldn't say it's bad. The biggest difference for me was that the search button is next to the start button, not a part of it. And I really like the Start menu apps, like Email or Clock or Facebook etc. As to what concerns the stuff you mentioned, I just got rid of it as soon as I found out about it. It's fairly easy to reorganize and customize the Start menu, which is what I did and now I'm perfectly happy.
